Our Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course equips your team with the essential skills and confidence to respond quickly and effectively to workplace emergencies.

This intensive one-day course blends practical, hands-on learning with clear, expert guidance. Designed for low-risk workplaces or organisations whose first aid needs assessment identifies emergency-level training as sufficient, the EFAW qualification ensures your appointed first aider can step in calmly and competently during a crisis.

What You’ll Learn

Participants will gain the knowledge and practical ability to:

• Assess an incident and manage an emergency situation
• Perform CPR and use an AED
• Place a casualty in the recovery position
• Treat choking effectively
• Control bleeding and manage shock
• Deal with minor injuries such as cuts, grazes, splinters and burns
• Respond to fractures and suspected spinal injuries
• Recognise and manage heart attacks and angina
• Identify and respond to strokes
• Assist casualties with asthma, diabetes and anaphylaxis
• Care for an unconscious casualty safely

Throughout the day, learners are continually assessed by an experienced trainer to ensure competence and confidence in every key skill area.

Certification

On successful completion, candidates receive a FAIB-accredited Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years.
