Entry Requirements

Course Format

Blended Learning Structure:

  1. 6 Hours E-learning:
    Complete at your own pace prior to attending the practical session. Accessible on desktop, tablet, or smartphone, the e-learning provides interactive modules, videos, and quizzes to reinforce key knowledge.
  2. 1 Day Classroom Practical:
    Instructor-led face-to-face training focusing on hands-on skill development, practical scenarios, and assessments.

Course Content

The course covers a comprehensive range of topics in line with EYFS and Ofsted standards, including:

First Aid for Infants and Children:

  • Understanding the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider
  • Assessing an emergency situation and prioritising actions
  • Incident reporting and recording

CPR and Resuscitation:

  • Infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Unresponsive Casualty Management:

  • Recovery position for infants and children
  • Dealing with choking incidents

Medical Emergencies:

  • Asthma attacks
  • Anaphylaxis and use of auto-injectors (e.g. EpiPen)
  • Seizures and febrile convulsions
  • Diabetic emergencies
  • Meningitis

Injury Management:

  • Head injuries and spinal injuries
  • Fractures, sprains, and dislocations
  • Cuts, grazes, and severe bleeding
  • Burns and scalds
  • Bites and stings
  • Eye, ear, and nose injuries

Environmental Injuries:

  • Hypothermia and hyperthermia

2391 Inspection and Testing

Completed the C&G 2391-52 Level 3 Inspection and Testing Course today. The course was taken by Lee, who has a real wealth of knowledge and experience. It’s renowned for being a difficult course, but testament to Lee, all 6 guys passed and the week flew in. Highly recommend.

Fantastic EFAW course

I attended a EFAW course run by Bob Adam and it was fantastic. Bob brought the material to life with lots of personal examples and stories from his own experiences that really helped me learn the information. The videos were great, especially the one showing how to do CPR correctly.
